Introduction

Here are reshacked builds of some miranda-im plugins. These should provide slightly more comfortable usability with screen-reading applications such as jaws for windows, wintalker. Others are not tested but are expected to work the same way.

Number of my suggestions and little patches has already been incorporated to the core miranda-im package. So if you are looking for an opportunity to use these blind-friendly mods grab the last nightly build from the development page.

This includes modifications to the folloving plugins:

• miranda32.exe - core application
• srmm.dll - the default send/receive messages module
• icq.dll - icq protocol plugin
• jabber.dll - jabber protocol plugin
• irc.dll - IRC protocol plugin
• msn.dll - MSN protocol plugin

Recently enhanced plugins

Except of the core miranda distribution plugins here are links to the plugins which have also been enhanced recently to be more confortable to use for visually disabled people.

Note: all the links in the following list open a new window if you have java script enabled in your browser.

• WhenWasIt birthday reminder (Unicode) and ansi
• Contactlist for blind folx
• yamn (yet another mail notifier) - to popup a mail locate it in the mailbrowser and hit space bar. If you are brave to betatest check YB's testing build
• status message on window open SOMWO for short
• Last Seen mod
• Spell Checker
• History++ - hint: upon first show of the history window press F10 to change default layout to the blind friendly
• Status message history
• IAX protocol
• Quick contacts or Quick Contacts at the FL
• Jabber.dll Gmail mod protocol

At the miranda filelisting and in the forums there are loads of plugins so if you have a plugin which is not listed above nor its mod is published on this site such plugin is considered to be blind-friendly out of the box.

If you are blind or visualy impaired and you have problems to get particular plugin to work as you expect it to then contact me maybe we shal be able to find out what needs to be adjusted.

Starting from Miranda-IM 0.5 there are two types of builds awailable. Please choose either Unicode - for windows 2000, windows XP, windows 2003 & windows vista or Ansi - for windows millenium down to Windows 95. You can easily distinguish ansi from unicode build by examining last letter of the filename excluding its extension.
Note: files which do not end in u.zip or a.zip can be installed to both versions; they aren't unicode aware yet or they are 2 in 1 distributions.

If you can merge any patched plugin listed here with its original development branch it will be very appreciated; ask me for source diffs in this case please. Changes are minimal - in most cases the problem is in window styling.
